Rag Rug - Two Colors Done
I have started crocheting a room size rag rug. I've got 2 colors done so far. I started with chain stitching 40, single crocheting the sides, and adding some extra single crochets around the corners. I go through a ball of "fabric yarn" pretty quickly. I have a whole bunch more ready to crochet in - over 15 more colors to go! See my previous post, Getting Started, to see a link for how to make your own fabric yarn. Check back in a few weeks for another progress update!
I haven't measured it with a yardstick yet, but I would estimate it to be 2.5 feet long so far.

Cherry Tree In Bloom

If you read my previous post, you know that I did a ton of yard work this past weekend. One nice part about each trip of weeds to the woods was the Cherry Tree on the way. The street we love on has many Cherry Trees and they look and smell beautiful this time of year. We only have one Cherry Tree on our property - in the back yard. It is next to an apple tree. It is really gorgeous when they are both in bloom. The white and pink blossoms compliment each other well. I am not the best photographer, but I hope that I captured enough of the tree's beauty for you to enjoy!

Heart Basket
This sweet little basket was specially made as a Valentine's Day gift for someone special! I originally was just going to add loops for handles to this basket. However, after sewing the handles to the basket, I thought that the loops were a little too long. So, I turned the loops into hearts. To make the handles, I sewed two loops onto the basket - one on each side. Then I pinched the top of each loop together to form the heart, and then stitched where the pinch was located. So, my long handles turned into lovely hearts!
