Storyland - New Hampshire

You may never have heard of Storyland before. It is an amusement park catered towards 3 -10 year-old children and parents with youthful hearts. Our little guy turned 3-years-old this year and we adventured up to Storyland - the first time going for my husband and the first time for me since I myself was a child. The park has gotten much larger since I was a tot. There are many more amusement rides than I remembered as a child. The more traditional activities that I remember from my youth, such as the old lady in the shoe and Cinderella's Castle are overshadowed by the newer flashy amusement park rides. My little guy, who likes to go FAST, really enjoyed all of the rides. There were some rides that require children to be 36 inches tall and a parent to accompany him/her. If children are 48 inches or taller, then they could go on most rides on their own. I think that my little guy's favorite ride was steering the antique car around the park. The train was also pretty cool. He got to take a trip on a pirate ship and ride his first roller coaster! Being an expectant mommy, I sat out and played the role of photographer for many of the rides. There was an abundant of trees shading benches by every ride, which made it perfect for enjoying the fun from the sidelines. I think that we will definitely go back next summer!

Smashing Strawberries!

I hadn't picked strawberries since I was a little girl. I remember my mother taking my sisters and I to the strawberry field early in the morning before the heat of the day. We all would pick berries for about an hour and seeing who could find the biggest juiciest berries! Recently, I took my 3-year-old berry picking. He had a great time walking up and down the rows of strawberries, looking for just the berries. However, I think that his favorite part was when we got home and smashed the berries to make strawberry jam. I think that my favorite part was enjoying the strawberry shortcake after dinner that night. I look forward to picking blueberries later this summer and making some more jam with the little guy.

Cabana Bag - Knit with Fabric Strips

I recently finished a custom order for one of my Etsy friends, JG Edge Wear. I wanted to post the finished product, because I have never made anything like this before. The custom order was for a cabana bag made by knitting fabric strips together and then sewing the lining and handles. It was a fun project and helped get me back into knitting, something that I had not done in years!

Winter Birthday Bash!

My nephew turned 5 on New Year's Day. We went over for a birthday bash. We tackled a pinata, made a foam snowman picture, went on a treasure hunt, went sledding, threw some snowballs, and made beautiful art in the snow with snow paint. My little guy only went down the hill once sledding, but he made snow art until all of the paint was gone! However, I think that his favorite winter activity is throwing snowballs!

And, I loved the birthday cake too!
