Cardboard Box Airplane

Today's project was making a cardboard box airplane. I used a utility knife on a wooden cutting board to shape the box and then we used a stapler to attach felt to the sides for decorating the plane. Dave helped by holding things in place while I used the stapler. I probably used about 1 yard of felt, which you can sometimes find on sale for less than $3 a yard.

Winter Thaw & Puddle Splashing

Now that my son is running around everywhere, I am experiencing the little things in life that I had not thought amusing since my own childhood. Except, now I am experiencing the fun and excitement through his eyes. Recently, the weather has hit the high 30's and low 40's during the day here which has started the winter thaw. Lots of melting snow has created puddles everywhere! My little guy loves nothing more than splashing in a puddle. The bigger the puddles the better! I can't wait until spring when we start seeing worms on the paved driveway .. that should be interesting!
